pharma.sensor App

What is pharma.sensor App?

The pharma.sensor app is a mobile application that allows patients and doctors to access information on drug prescriptions, taking into account individual DNA variants. It supports personalized drug therapy by indicating which DNA variants are important for the safe effect of a drug and whether there are any special recommendations to be observed.

The app allows users to quickly search for drugs by entering the name, pharmaceutical registration number (PZN), or scanning the barcode on the packaging (for German drug catalogs).

The pharma.sensor app is based on the recommendations of the Royal Dutch Association for the Promotion of Pharmacy (DPWG). The prototype content of the app has been shown to be effective in reducing adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in the PREPARE study (see reference Lancet paper).

pharma.sensor is available for Android and Apple devices and can be downloaded and used free of charge in its basic version. The app does not store or process any personal data, but is used exclusively for retrieving information. Access to personalized recommendations requires prior DNA analysis and corresponding login details.

bio.logis developed the prototype of the app as part of the EU project Ubiquitous Pharmacogenomics (U-PGx) and gradually refined it for use in diagnostic and clinical contexts.

The associated IT platform GIMS.pharma enables laboratories to automatically interpret genetic data and generate individual dosage recommendations for up to 80 active ingredients. The pharma.sensor app makes these recommendations available to patients and physicians digitally, thus enabling easier and more accurate drug selection.
